Kananaskis Ring Recovery

Paul contacted me about a ring he has lost while surfing in the river.  We chatted and we knew it was in the river. Just had to figure out where.  When we arrived we talked and came up with a plan. It worked! Click on the image below to watch the video.

There's Gold in That Thar Creek

It took a bit of time and effort but 3 months after I began I was able to return Trevors wedding ring to him.

When he first tipped his canoe, the creek was 5 feet deep. I tried my best but the conditions weren't helping. Jump forward to September and the water was way down. I jumped into the creek again... but I shouldn't have. Click on the image below for the full story.

Haylee called me. Her great, great grandmother’s ring dropped between the boards of the deck. She looked immediately, looked later, had the boards pulled up and had several other people look as well. Two weeks passed and it was till not found.  She called me to help out. I followed along as she shared her story. Based on what she said and the conditions present, she should have already found it herself.  I picked up where she left off and couldn’t find it either. That is when we started questioning what actually happened. With a new approach it didn’t take long before I hit the sound I was looking for. If you like happy endings, this is it.  I received a call from Dina. Her son had proposed while snowshoeing outside the city. His fiance shook her hand and the ring disappeared into the snow. While talking with Dina I received a second call.  I told Dina I would need to hear from her son and his fiance. I answered the second call. It was Joyce and she shared with me that her fiance had just proposed while out snowshoeing and she had shaken her hand and the ring disappeared. Unbeknownst to either of them, they both had just contacted me.  We arranged to meet the next day.  After a walk into the woods and a quick re-creation, we started the hunt. A few minutes later, a shout started a joyous celebration. Click on the image below to watch the video for the details.

On  a Sunday afternoon, Punam and her mom go for a walk. Why is it special?  It was her mom’s first time out in over a year due to Covid. Not long after starting, her mom noticed her ring missing. That started a 2 hour unsuccessful hunt. With no luck, they found me online.  I talked with her husband for a while and it was suggested that we wait until Monday. I was a little pushy and said, “Time is our enemy”.  With lost items, that is very true. So we agreed to do it same day, especially since I told him that there was no obligation if we didn’t find it. With a little time and good information…….we were able to find it. Click on the image below to watch the video for her priceless reaction and an emotional response.

Sam called me up. Her husband and her went camping in Kananaskis country. A hot day lead to a dip in the cold creek.  When it was over, his ring was gone.  They spent two days looking for it without any luck and potential cases of hypothermia. When I arrived, we chatted a little and then I got to work. Fifteen minutes later, the ring was back in her hands. Another happy ending.  Click on the image below to watch the video for the full story.

From Sam

“Working with Evan to find our wedding ring was incredible. He’s professional, kind, tenacious, and joyful. His reassurance and skills made our stress flow away and he found it so quickly! Highly recommended!”

Al called me.  He was up at Fortress Mountain filming a commercial. The Vancouver film maker had wrapped up the filming and was packing up. About halfway back to the highway he realized his ring was missing. They went back and with the help of four others, searched for the ring to no avail. That night while talking with his wife, she mentioned that she had seen a piece on TV about a professional ring finder finding the actor Jon Cryer’s lost ring. With that information, he was able to find me on the internet.  We chatted at length and arranged for me to get access to the ski hill (it is closed to the public) the next day. It had to be the next day because the forecast was for snow….lots of it.  While Al was heading for the airport, I was up at the hill searching for his ring. With the great details Al provided, we began our hunt. A few minutes in, I heard the beautiful tone of a surface target. Moments later, the ring was revealed under a light dusting of snow.

Once back in cell coverage I sent a picture of the ring to Al.  His words…”Woohoo. That is amazing. I am so thrilled.” It will soon be in his hands. Click on the image below to watch the video.

Samuel called me. He lost his wedding ring......8 months earlier while closing the gate at an RV storage lot. When it happened, he searched, rented a metal detector twice and returned to rake. He did everything anyone who has lost something should do. When I was speaking to him, I really had my doubts about it. Time is the enemy. In the end I agreed to take a look. On a Saturday morning I met Samuel and we looked.  Based on his description it should have been right there and he should have found it right away. With snow on the ground when it happened, we guessed that maybe a vehicle drove over it and moved it or maybe it was plowed. So I expanded the search area and did the sides of the road. That is when I heard the sound I needed to hear. I picked up the ring and gave it to Samuel. He was totally overwhelmed in emotion and incredibly grateful. When I took a look at the ring, I could tell why.  I am glad it is back where it belongs.
